I rarely got sick before I began college. Since being at college, I have acquired allergies, Ive had Bronchitis, the Flu, an Ulcer, some ridiculously awful sore throats, strep throat and mono.
Those last two completely changed the rest of my semester. The powers that be removed me from the musical. I understand that they want me healthy. I appreciate that they are acting as surrogate parents and I know that this was a hard desicion
But this was my last show, my last hurrah as an HU theatre student. I even had a line! I know performance isn't my strong suit, so stop thinking it. I KNOW. But I also know how much I love being on that stage. I know what I expected from this semester and this isnt it.
And everything about this disappointment is reminding me Im pretty much alone and once I graduate I'll have to figure out life for myself on my own. I don't really know that I can do this.

  1. At the risk of sounding cliche, I just wanted you to know that you are not alone. You're never alone. It may feel like it sometimes...but it's just not true.

    Keep that in mind.

Sucks about the musical...and even more that you're sick. But this isn't your last hurrah as a HU student, and definitely not your last hurrah as an AWESOME, amazing, and wonderful daughter of the Lord. Plus, there will always be opportunities to perform. Here in Nashville, they are having auditions for stuff all the time. More auditions than people even trying out. (Not that any of this takes away the sting or makes you feel better.)

I hate that you are having such a rough last semester at school. But I know you and I know that your light is bright and you are always a joy to the people you are around. Remember that.

Harding is just the beginning. And when you graduate, you'll find your niche somewhere out in the world. And you'll be amazing and terrific at it. I say this with confidence because I know how great you are. And as I'm writing, I realize how much I sound like a goofy grandmother, so I'll stop before I go all Golden Girls on you or Cory Matthews as an old man. They want you to take the rolls!

I love you and miss you terribly.
